Wavelet analysis does for unsteady and/or intermittent systems what Fourier
analysis has done for multiperiodic systems. My work focusses on the use of
continuous wavelet transforms to extract information from complicated experimental data, and to explore the physics of turbulent
flows by formal manipulations of the partial
differential equations.
