Project ENGAGE

July 22 to July 28 - Link Hall

Project ENGAGE is a week-long summer emersion program for middle school girls who are interested in an experience, which integrates science and engineering with community and societal understanding. This LC Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science pilot program is funded by the Siemens Foundation. The focus of the program will be an applied look at how technology shapes the world we live in, and how science and engineering knowledge and products transforms lives.

Participants in this program were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Criteria for selection included academic achievement, evidence of personal initiative, a curiosity for learning, and a stated commitment to the goals of the program.

The summer program will include lessons, activities, readings and discussions, projects, field trips, and hands-on learning alongside accomplished female engineers, college professors, and high school teachers focusing on the theme Engineering and the Human Body.
