INV3D is an Inverse Design CFD Code currently being developed by Prof. T. Q. Dang and his students. It has only been used for axial compressor blade design (so far). We will be applying this method to a much more diverse range of turbomachinery in the near future.

Our method is general enough to handle:
  • Compressor Blades
  • Turbine Blades
  • Rotors
  • Stators
In any of these configurations:
  • Axial flow
  • Mixed flow
  • Radial flow

The purpose of this page is to give you some insight into our Inverse Design method. This site describes some of the theory behind how the code works, the current capabilities of our code and some designs that we have applied this technique to.
